Skoda Australia has announced local pricing for its ‘Golf GTI’ sedan and wagon, the Skoda Octavia RS245.
With Volkswagen’s 180kW/370Nm turbo four under the hood, the Octavia aims to be a more ‘family-focused’ Golf GTI alternative. With a 6-speed manual gearbox, buyers will be looking at $43,390 before on-roads for a sedan, or $44,890 for an Octavia RS245 wagon.
Sedans fitted with a 7-speed DSG have an RRP of $45,890, but a wagon with DSG will start at $47,390 before dealer and statutory charges. These prices include a few new upgrades as standard, the most significant of which are the addition of a limited-slip diff and the new 180kW output.
Also new is the leather and Alcantara sports trim, black 19-inch alloys, black exhaust pipes, a new instrument cluster and new door inserts. Pricing for extras on RS245s has also been announced for Australia, with two main options packs being priced to keep the Octavia’s maximum pricing close to the $50K mark.
The ‘Tech Pack’, which includes extras such as parking assist, adaptive chassis control, keyless entry and braking assist, will come at $2300 extra. The other pack is the ‘Luxury Pack’, which includes lane assist, side assist, blind spot detection, and heated seats front and rear. This pack is only $1500.
Also available for an Octavia RS245 is metallic or pearl paint for $500, a sunroof for $1500 on the sedan or $1700 for a wagon, and an automatic boot opening system for the wagon which is an extra $500. All in all, the highest RRP that can be racked-up for an Octavia RS245 is $53,890 for a DSG-equipped wagon with metallic paint, both options packs, and an automatic boot.
The Skoda Octavia RS245 is available in showrooms this month, and will be a mainstay of the Australian range unlike the previous limited-run RS230.
