Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec duo hits auction

Shannons has a treat for Skyline fans at its upcoming Autumn Classic auction in Melbourne, on Monday April 30.

Two Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Specs are due to cross the block, one an R33 and one R34, and both with low kilometres in almost original condition.

While one is likely to reach six-figures in the bidding, the other is a more realistic purchase for most.

The R34, which is expected to sell for $90,000 - $110,000, has had its legendary RB26DETT rebuilt after a ring failure on the second cylinder. Even still, the car has only travelled a short distance of 26,523km since new, and around 2000km since the engine rebuild.

“Otherwise, where many contemporary Skylines are highly modified, this is an unmolested factory-standard vehicle that has been in the care of a mature enthusiast owner for the past six years.”

It also until recently wore ‘NISMO’ as its registration plate, in its home state of Tasmania. The plates are able to be purchased by the buyer of the car.

The R33, however, comes much cheaper than its younger brother. With only 60,000 km on the odometer, the ’95 Spec-V is expected to pick up somewhere between $35,000 and $40,000.

It was imported in 1995, near new, according to Shannons, and has since been meticulously cared for.

“Its condition reflects even less distance and age [than it’s been through], because the factory silver paint is in very good condition and the black cloth interior shows little sign of wear.”

Both cars are selling unregistered with no reserve at Shannons’ next auction in Melbourne, on April 30.
