Lambo LP650-4

If the SV is the Murcielago’s final fling as a coupe, will this garish limited-edition special be its farewell as a roadster? Inside word is: don’t bet on it, because the big Murchey still has two years to run.

Lamborghini has made sure you won’t wonder about its extra 10hp by plastering LP650-4 in Day-Glo orange all over. The car carries largely the same all-wheel drive mechanicals as the standard 6.5-litre V12 Roadster, so hits 100km/h (62mph) in 3.4 seconds on its way to a 330km/h (205mph) top speed.

Your one-of-50 LP650-4 Roadsters will stand out from your neighbour’s LP640 Roadster by virtue of grey bodywork with glaring orange highlights: brake calipers, gearshift paddles, console trim and flashes on the sills.

A bit more tasteful is the clear view in to the engine bay, where the carbonfibre bracing seems a long way in front of the welded steel tube chassis.
