Lexus IS200T Quick Review Video

The new Lexus IS200T aims to improve in areas of performance and efficiency against key rivals such as the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The IS200T replaces the IS250 and that new badge heralds a new turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. Despite being smaller than the 2.5-litre V6 from before the turbo ensures there’s stronger pulling power from lower revs and fuel efficiency improves by nearly 20%.

It is however, still slower and thirstier than its key rivals and the new eight-speed automatic gearbox is quite jerky. Not a patch on rival gearboxes from the likes of Audi and BMW.

Buyers will appreciate that Lexus refuses to copy rivals when it comes to lengthy options lists. Every model in the IS range is packed with features.
