If you want to be noticed, this bright orange all-paw 6.5lt V12 Lambo Aventador does the trick. With 544 kilowatts, zero to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350km/h. The Aventador, named after a fighting bull, is more likely to give you wings then that well known drink.

Inside is black Alcantara and outside lots of carbon bits. A two owner car, since new it has covered just 9000 kilometres and sold with comprehensive paperwork.

Sold: $43,000
Bring A Trailer – Lot 95959

This car was acquired by the seller’s father in 1975, put in storage until 2000 and in 2018 underwent a complete resto. The SP Daimler is powered by a 2.5lt V8, tied to a four-speed manual.

It sold with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, a tonneau cover, convertible top, refurbishment documents, 31,000km on the odo, a spare parts catalogue and a service manual.

Mecum – Lot G88

A turbocharged Corvair wagon. Ralph Nader, would have been apoplectic over this car. Still, what a collector piece. A barn find sporty version of the Corvair, it has a 150hp turbo engine bolted to a four-speed manual, making it rare even back then.

It also has bucket seats and the Monza gauge cluster sitting behind the curved windscreen. The car came from the dry climes of Arizona. What a talking piece at car and coffee events.

Auction market watch

Chrysler By Chrysler

1971 1976 Chrysler By Chrysler
8

The elegant Chrysler by Chrysler (1971-76) is based on a longer wheelbase version of the Valiant and came in sedan and coupe bodies, with the more distinctive two-door the pick of the bunch. Power came from the 265 straight six or a pair of V8s; the 318ci and the 360ci. All were mated to a TorqueFlite three-speed auto.

They were crammed full of all the luxury appointments and make for an excellent if sedate weekend cruiser. Corrosion is a common issue so check that first. Mechanically they are robust if cared for. Seek out your local Chrysler/Valiant/Mopar club for guidance.
